Course Overview:

Homicide Ideation (HI) occurs comorbidly with other common mental health diagnosis. It can be difficult to identify and treat the homicide ideation specifically, but it is critically important. In this training we will review common statistics and trends of HI, identifying HI when other diagnosis may cover the signs up, administering the homicide questionnaire, learn how to build a treatment plan for addressing HI, and evidence-based processes that can be applied to the treatment of those reporting HI.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Define Homicide Ideation
  • Identify patterns and common comorbid diagnosis.
  • Administer the Homicide Questionnaire Parts 1 and 2.
  • Build a treatment plan for a client reporting HI.
  • Implement skills from evidence-based models to address HI.
